.His Mercy is New everY mornInG.

How hard will one fall when he is on top of the world? Who would ever imagine someone of his standard will one day crumbled and became lower than the dust. The dark past has resurfaced and caused such shockwave that truly shakes the very foundation of those who trust in him. My heart goes our for him and his family. It must such a great blow for them. Moreover, he is someone that suppose to have certain moral standard. Well, I can imagine fingers point at them, accusing them of preaching and doing an entirely different thing. Condemnation comes along no doubt. How are they gonna pick themselves up?
I guess the only comfort they can find now is in Jesus. He didn't condemn the adulterous woman. So did He not condemn rev Ted Haggard. Jesus asked those who are without sin is welcome to stone this woman. None did because all were guilty of sin and they simply walked away. Our dear Savior is so wonderful and merciful. Not only He forgave the woman and told her to repent, He gave her hope. A new life that is free of guilt, self-condemnation, and accusive stare of others.
It's the same for rev Ted Haggard. Jesus will say, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more. Indeed when sin abounds, grace abounds much more”. Those who are forgiven of their sins will know how much God loves them.
From this man of God, I come to appreciate the beauty of the way God works. He didn’t choose those who are flawless. But, He made those who are imperfect to be shepherds of His great flock. Indeed, our weakness in make perfect in His strength.
This is a difficult and testing time for Rev Ted Haggard, his family, his friends and New life church. But, we believers are more than conquerers. They will be more than fine and emerged victorious from this test. God is faithful and He will carry them through.
I think it's not a coincidence that here in SH, we are doing a study on John, on Jesus and the adulterous woman. I can see the parallel between this story and Rev Haggard story. I wonder what God is telling us. This is so exciting! I'm looking forward for more revelation from Him.

Lately, I've been sleeping at wee hours such as 5am. Lab reports are draining my energy. But, it's kinda fun writing report from scratch. In year 1 and 2, the lazy me usually resort to referring to senior's report. If not because of the research I did, I wouldn't know about the wonderful fish that has shed lights on inheritance diseases. Truly it is challenging when I start to do work. I mean really doing work. And, because of these, my time with the Word is compromised. This is not suppose to be the way. These distractions must stop soon. I miss goin to the Word and finding so many interesting truth in it. I miss the time when Holy Spirit will guide me along in discovering hidden things among the seemingly familar text.
