How many relates to this song? I do. The feeling creeps in without prior notice. Especially when friends around me are getting attached. I've been reading a book titled Captivating. What a word to describe the descendants of Eve. Yep, the book talks about the innermost desire of every woman.
Women yearn for attentions, affections, and relations. We want to be told that we are beautiful, alluring, inspiring, captivating, etc. Alas, in the pursuit of these, many have been hurt so deep that they give up entirely on feeling beautiful. Resigning to fate/destiny/luck - whatever you call it. Some women bury themselves in "busyness", hoping that such hurt will not surface. Time and again, the hurt comes and visits. Women forget how to be feminine. We strive for equal rights with men. We want to be treated like how society treats men. Tough girl, they say. Domineering, controlling, aggressive and defensive, some have become. How many know that men (male and female) are created based on the image of God. God as warrior who is ever ready to rescue His people. God as the protector and provider of His children. These image of God are imprinted in men. Women carry the feminine and gentle side of God. Merciful, full of grace, sensitive, beautiful, captivating and love. These are God's attributes too.
